Jillian Milton
My name is Jillian Milton, and I work as a Freelance UX Designer for small businesses and as a Digital Accessibility Tester for AccessAbility Officer. I graduated from UConn with a Bachelor of Arts in Web Design and a minor in Digital Marketing and Analytics. I also graduated as an Honors STEM Scholar: a distinction given to only 75 students in a class of about 5,800 people. All STEM Scholars take Honors courses in their major and write an Honors Thesis. For my thesis project, I researched and developed a mobile app called Gated.
After graduation, I earned two certifications in Web Accessibility: Trusted Tester from the US Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and the Certified AccessAbility Tester (CAT) certification from AccessAbility Officer. These certifications allow me to find and report digital accessibility issues in accordance with WCAG 2.2 level AA standards. Currently, I work with a team of accessibility professionals to audit local government websites. Technology and inclusive design have always been my passions. I love making digital products easier to use and accessible for everyone. My goal is to secure a full-time position in either accessibility or UX Design.
