Blind Pioneers (Redesign)

Year: 2022

A laptop screen displays the homepage of a website called Blind Pioneers. The navigation menu at the top includes links for Home, Categories, About, and Contact. The header reads "Educating Blind and Visually Impaired Students" and shows an astronaut walking on the moon holding a green cane that glows like a lightsaber. Below the image is a paragraph explaining that Blind Pioneers showcases techniques and technologies used to educate blind and visually impaired students, giving them a voice and providing access to materials and activities.

In 2022, I redesigned Blind Pioneers, a website I originally created in 2021 using a Wix template with curated original content. I improved the layout and restructured the information so that topics could be readily found through various entry points. For example, the home page features articles that bring users to that respective article. Users can also click “Categories” and read an article or watch a video pertaining to that category. I also changed the color palette and fonts to better convey the explorer/ space age theme. With these aesthetic and functional improvements to the original website completed, I hope to code the website and publish it again in the future.
